He designed the sets for some great Universal horror films of the 30&#8217;s, like <em>The Raven<\/em> with Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi and <em>The Invisible Ray<\/em> also with Karloff and Lugosi.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/filmforno.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/19664_0003.jpg\" title=\"19664_0003.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmforno.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/19664_0003.jpg\" alt=\"19664_0003.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"> <em>We&#8217;ll put the embalming machine right there.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmforno.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/invisibleray1936ld.gif\" title=\"invisibleray1936ld.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmforno.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/invisibleray1936ld.gif\" alt=\"invisibleray1936ld.gif\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then he moved over to my favorite studio, the crazy house RKO. Here he worked on some more masterpieces of supernatural atmosphere, all of Val Lewton&#8217;s classics- <em>The Cat People<\/em>, <em>The Leopard Man<\/em>, <em>I Walked With A Zombie<\/em>, <em>Curse Of The Cat People<\/em>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/filmforno.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/1lewtoncatirinaspot.jpg\" title=\"1lewtoncatirinaspot.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmforno.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/1lewtoncatirinaspot.jpg\" alt=\"1lewtoncatirinaspot.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"> <em>The Cat People<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmforno.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/zombers235707.jpg\" title=\"zombers235707.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmforno.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/zombers235707.jpg\" alt=\"zombers235707.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>Who ordered The Zombie?<\/em><\/p>\n<p> While at RKO he was made head of the Art Department and he is credited on hundreds of films including some incredible noirs like <em>Out Of The Past<\/em>, <em>The Spiral Staircase<\/em> and<em>Clash By Night<\/em>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/filmforno.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/past.jpg\" title=\"past.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmforno.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/past.jpg\" alt=\"past.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>One Of My All Time Favorites<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And Howard Hawk&#8217;s <em>The Thing From Another World<\/em>! His credits are mind boggling. I&#8217;m attaching a scan of an article from the summer 1971 issue of <em>Cinefantastique<\/em> by Gary D. Dorst written at the time of D&#8217;Agostino&#8217;s death.
